Footnotes
Barry Evans was known for Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush (1968), London Weekend Television sitcoms Doctor in the House (1969) and Mind Your Language (1977), plus The Mystery of Edwin Drood (1993). He died on February 11, 1997 in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, England. The circumstances of his early death remain a mystery; he was found dead in his bungalow in Leicestershire, with bottles of whiskey and aspirins nearby. A youth was charged with his murder, but acquitted on lack of evidence. A local coroner later recorded an open verdict.
