David William Frederick Lodge was born on 19 August 1921 in Rochester, Kent.
During the Second World War, David Lodge served in the RAF. Before turning to acting he worked as a circus clown. He also appeared in Gang Shows and variety before making his screen debut in The Cockleshell Heroes (1955), which also featured Christopher Lee.
David Lodge died on 18 October 2003 in Northwood, Middlesex at the age of 82.
