Prolific British supporting actor Joe Phelps was a veteran of ninety films from 1946 to 1974, all of which were uncredited. He often played a policeman or prison officer. Joe appeared in The Dirty Dozen (1967), Dr Strangelove (1964) and as a stand-in for Bernard Lee in From Russia with Love (1963)
